Delighted to welcome NFRN Scotland to our showroom
On the 13th September the NFRN, Scotland DRS Committee visited Excel Vending in East Kilbride. Our Reverse Vending machine is the only one in UK. It can take plastic bottles, cans and glass bottles.
The machine was easy to use and size was not as big as I first thought.
We have had ongoing discussions Zero Waste Scotland and other stakeholders who support DRS (Deposit Return Scheme). Our priority is to make sure that this scheme is workable and to make it voluntary to smaller retailers and also to make cost of machine affordable.
There are various points that will need to be cleared and addressed.
This visit along with the ongoing work being done will help the DRS committee and Zero Waste Scotland find solutions to the issues affecting the retailers with DRS.
